Updates, Anyone?

Ughh, you guys, I'll be in limbo for the next 2 weeks or so (personal reasons). I haven't been able to update for a while (yeah, I missed out on humoring my favorite actor, RPattz) [MAJOR sarcasm btw ;P] but, in my defense, I've been on a mission to hunt down a webmaster. Or web designer, which ever sounds better. Getting back to the topic at hand, after the next two weeks, I'll be updating like crazy! So, with all that out there, I'd like to bid you all a fond farewell,
SEE YOU GUYS NEXT... (next) WEEK!
May your swords stay sharp!

Movie Poster? Really?

Okay, so I was surfing around when I found a claimed 'Official New Moon Movie Poster'. Yeah, really? Was my first thought, but then I began to look more into it. My final say in all this, is that there are a lot of really awesome fan-made posters, but nothing official has yet been released. Infact, there's quite a few posters worth posting:

Oh, That Crazy Rob Pattz

Okay, guys, it's a rare omg moment for me.. Since I love RPattz so much (sarcasm), I decided to post a very interesting article just for my favorite actor!

Thanks very much to E! Online:

Robert Pattinson's on the cover of April’s GQ looking dapper and relatively clean, if also a bit confused.

It's this state of nervous confusion, and not cleanliness ("his clothes smell like he has recently purchased them off the back of someone less fortunate than he," the writer notes), that carries over into the interview, where the actor rambles on and on.

Not that we're complaining, because he touches on just about everything you'd want to know.

So lady rumors first...

As he says, "There’s literally not a single [true] story that could be written about me." And he would know, he's up-to-date on all the Internet gossip since he loves to read about himself "out of a kind of masochistic narcissism."

According to Pattz, it's not true, then, that he's dating some Brazilian model named Annelyse ("I’ve never met her") or trying to steal Camilla Belle from a Jonas Brother ("No. I mean, yeah, yeah, I’m friends with Camilla”) or actually proposed to
Kristen Stewart ("I said that in some interview, as a joke—‘Oh, I proposed to her multiple times.’ And then it gets printed: ‘On the set, he proposed multiple times.’ ").

As far as playing the moody emo-vampire Edward Cullen, he owes his initial success to Valium, which he popped before going into the audition. But after that, he read up on the Twilight world and came prepared to bring it. “If you met a guy like [Edward] in real life," he says, "you’d think he was kind of dorky." So he tried to play him more edgy and cool, if that's even possible when suffering from a sparkly skin condition.

His next movie, Little Ashes, a Spanish indie film in which he plays a young Salvador DalĂ, is significantly less Twilighty, but that will probably be OK with most of his fans, given this sale: “I was kind of crossing lines of what I thought I was comfortable doing. I had to do all this naked stuff.”

Of course, that was filmed pre-Edward Cullen, and he doesn't have anything lined up after Stephenie Meyers’ tale finally comes to an end. In fact, he says he doesn't even care if it's more acting.

“I’m not massively concerned about doing lots of acting jobs,” he says. “If it all just went, right now, I’d be like, ‘All right. I don’t really care.’ That’s probably a stupid thing to say. But I don’t, really. I think it’d be much worse to do a load of stuff that’s really bad. Because then you can’t go into another career. If you’ve made an idiot out of yourself, you’re never going to be taken seriously, as a lawyer or something, if you’re, like, a joke actor. The only thing I want from anything is
to not be embarrassed.”

We don't know if we believe he doesn't care about the whole acting thing, but frankly, he can say whatever he wants, especially things like this:

“OK,” he says. Deep breath. “I f--ked Joe Jonas...I love him.”

Oh, that Rob Pattz, so racy.

The highly sought-after issue will hit newsstands March 17. For now, you can enjoy this
slideshow of perfectly disheveled hair over at GQ.com.

This was all posted from E! Online.. So wasn't that awesome! You gotta love Rob Pattinson! :D

Drew Barrymore's out- Juan Antonio Bayona to Direct

Horromeister, Juan Antonio Bayona, is set to direct the third installment in the Twilight Saga, Eclipse. You may recognize one of his works, The Orphanage, as a Spanish-language horror film. Although he's never directed an English-language film, Bayona's skilled way with the horror genre must have won over Summit Entertainment. Summit, which had no comment Wednesday, is expected to make the official announcement soon. The minimajor recently gave Eclipse a release date of June 30, 2010.

On a personal note, I've seen The Orphanage, and it's really good. The level of horror is simply astounding, but not over-whelming. If anything, I'm excited to see this director's perspective on Eclipse.

Author of the Year at British Book Awards: Stephenie Meyer

According to the BBC, Stephenie Meyer is up for the Author of the Year Award at this year’s British Book Awards. Meyer shares the shortlist with many famous names, such as Barack Obama, US President. Whereas the Twilight Saga has settled down here, over in the UK, it's still going strong. Actually, it takes residence at the top four spots in the best-selling UK book charts. Getting back to the topic, however, the winners will be announced in a grand ceremony in London on April 3rd.

On a side note, USA Today has written a very interesting article concerning Twilight. They're saying the success of the Twilight books have 'fueled the demand for supernatural books in the market'. According to Sandee Roston of HarperCollins Children’s books,

"Teen paranormal fiction is one of our strongest and growing categories. And it’s not just vampires,” says Roston, "Werewolves, zombies and other creatures are also taking center stage."

Did this all start with Twilight? Really? If you guys have ever heard of The Lost Boys, then you can probably guess that readers have always had a fascination with the paranormal and unusual. It's about a vampire gang with a sort of West Side Story twist.. Meyer's Twilight has really brought this genre the forefront of pop culture. Once again, I find myself tipping my hat off to the acclaimed author.

Catherine Hardwicke Honored

Director of Twilight, Catherine Hardwicke was honored At The Texas Film Hall of Fame Awards. Among many honorable mentions, she received the Ann Richards Award for her contributions in film making and for making it in the mostly male-dominated Hollywood Industry.

Here's a bit of the interview:

American-Statesman: You studied architecture at The University of Texas. How did you transition from that to filmmaking?

Catherine Hardwicke: I’d done this crazy [senior] project … just very hilarious, theatrical and elaborate. … At the end of my presentation, none of the teachers or faculty said anything. Their jaws just dropped, and they just moved on to the next person. About a week later, one of the visiting critics came up and said, “You know what? I’ve been thinking about you, and you shouldn’t be in architecture. Architecture is not going to encourage your kind of creativity. You should find something else.” [Laughs]

What is the story behind your decision not to direct ‘New Moon’ (the follow-up to ‘Twilight’)?

If I felt like it was right, if the schedule worked right and the way the studio wanted to do the next one felt right for me, then I wanted to do it. And, if not, I didn’t want to. I’d have had like 10? weeks to prepare the movie. I didn’t think the script was there, and it wasn’t ready. I wanted the second one to be better than the first one. I wanted more time to at least think about it and dream about how to step it up to the next level.

There ya have it! Hardwicke's contribution to the Twilight Saga may not leave her alone just yet...

Any Misconceptions?- Gone

Kristen Stewart Clears Up A Few Points

Her whispered romance with Robert Pattinson:

“Rob and I are great friends,” Stewart says. “But I understand why you would assume that when we lean on each other for support, there must be something more…And I’m not criticizing anyone for thinking it either. If anything, they’re really perceptive, because they can see a closeness.” (Her longtime boyfriend, actor Michael Angarano, isn’t fazed by the talk either. “We laugh about it,” Stewart says.)

Her absence at the Oscars:
“If I was invited to the Oscars, I would be there in a nanosecond,” she says. “If I got an invitation to the Oscars, I wouldn’t turn it down!”

Hopes on Breaking Dawn:
“We all really hope there is going to be a number four. I’m pretty confident that the fans aren’t going to all of a sudden lose interest. The only case that a fourth one wouldn’t be made is if all of a sudden people stopped caring, and I really don’t think that’s going to happen.”

That was all Kristen Stewart again... (!) xD

Uh, Repent? Kristen Stewart's Side

Recognized actress, Kristen Stewart, spoke out about her unforgettable interview with Nylon. In another interview with collider.com, she stated:

“I love the Twilight fans. I have literally never said anything remotely negative about them. You have to stay away from certain key words that can be twisted in a negative connotation. Like the word ‘psychotic’ apparently is really bad. I feel like it’s a really humble position to take that it’s not normal—you know what I mean?—to find yourself in a situation where there are 5,000 screaming girls. I feel like that’s not normal and it’s not something I should just say, ‘Oh yeah, it’s really cool, I love them.’ I feel like everything I said in that Nylon interview, if you actually read the whole thing, was very honest and genuine and talking about something that I am so immersed in and I have absolutely no control over. And I’m just trying to stay honest and true to something that I care about.”

Yeah, I did a double-take too. Sheesh, people can be so mean; look at how nice she really is! (Hypocriticism at it's best!) ;P But really, she seemed pretty genuine..

Kristen's okay in my book again, her role in New Moon should help her too. And to all you Stewart haters out there- forgive her slip up! I can't say the same for her father, but Kristen maybe really deserves a 'forgive-and-forget' deal..

Well, that's it on my view... Let's hear yours!

Quick Updates!

The release date for Eclipse has already been set! Word has been spreading that Summit has just released it: July 30, 2009. Some are wondering- heck, I'm wondering- how do they plan to make this happen? Well, it's said that filming for this movie will begin just after filming for New Moon ends. That makes the most sense, after all.. but you still have reasons to be at least a little bit suspicious of the release date.

And...

Another actor has just been announced!
Small time Canadian actor, Bronson Pelletier, has been cast to play a major role in New Moon. Speculation as to which character has been revolving around a pack member. Summit has yet to release exactly which character the actor will be playing, however.. the obvious guess I suppose would be one of the pack guys.

On a final note, Twilight the movie will be unleashed on DVD on March 21, 2009. There will be a 2-disk special featuring a bunch of bloopers and deleted scenes.. expect it on Blue Ray too. You can now pre-order the movie on Amazon.

That's all for now on quick updates! Stay tuned.. ;)

Kristen Stewart Ungrateful?

Backlash! The latest brouhaha began brewing when Robert Pattinson showed up to Sunday’s 81st Annual Academy Awards without the “Twilight” leading lady on his arm. As fans know, from the MTV Movie Awards to Comic-Con and various other events throughout 2009, it was extremely rare to see one actor making a publicity appearance without the other nearby. Immediately, rumors began circulation that there was more to KStew’s conspicuous absence than met the eye.
Sure enough, when the 18-year-old’s father John Stewart (no, not that one) showed up on the red carpet, the TV producer was approached by the incomparable Billy Bush. George W.’s cousin asked Kristen’s dad why she wasn’t presenting with RPattz, and his
answer was as honest as it was shocking. - ext. MTV

With her recent interview with Nylon and her dad’s comment regarding her Oscar absence, some Twilight fans are disappointed with Kristen Stewart. Kristen, in an interview with Nylon Magazine, was quoted saying that the Twilight promotional tour were “psychotic situations” and that she has always been asked “bull***t questions”. To top that, according to her dad, Kristen will only attend the Oscars “When it’s a great movie, not just one that makes a lot of money.”

Commenters had both harsh and understanding criticism to share:

wolfbane:: Kristen needs to get her head out of the clouds. I've been a supporter of hers since the beginning and now that i heard about this i turned a complete one-eighty. Has she ever thought that maybe Twilight wasn't good because her acting was only sub-par? I mean, the only good thing she did in the role was when she got bit. And as for the fans, yes i admit alot of the questions are stupid, but she has to think that alot of those fans are 12 year old girls and most of the questions are all in good fun. If she can't handle that then she stepped into the wrong career and into the wrong film franchise. And by the way Kristen, maybe you should think about the fact that the fans are funding your damn paycheck.

popsicle14:: Wow! She's the biggest snob in Hollywood.

Ash:: So she swears every now and then…whoopdie do. People don’t have to like her, she isn’t looking for anyone’s approval, as we have seen/heard. She ultimately makes her own decisions. We can’t fault her, cause we DON’T know her…but you should respect her a bit for not being a ‘stereotypical’ young Hollywood actress.

So how do you feel about Kristen? Does she deserve the backlash, or is she entitled to the way she reacted?

Fanfic Fries- Grand Unveil!

Alright, I'm gonna have a new segment here on TwiNews! :)

One of the things I like to do relating to Twilight is read fanfiction. I'll scout for the best and the interesting and post them, totally credited, here. The fanfics that are posted will not require any login for a particular site, so no worries there as well. Feel free to comment on fanfics- there are a lot of great stuff! Actually, I'm not going to limit this to just fanfiction.. but I'll introduce awesome artwork too.

One last thing- fanfic fries will come randomly and crazily, so keep a clear look out!

LOST- Edward never came back. Seven years later, Bella is a tough, heartless corporate girl in New York City. She has taken down many businesses and never lost. Now, she is about to take down C-CORP. Who is the mysterious owner? Who is "C"? She will find out, and she will destroy him. Who is the monster now? Can she be saved? This story was written and completed by edwardsoul (penname) on Twilight Archives.

Burn Beautiful- Spoiler warning. Continuation of New Moon. Being a vampire comes with it's own problems: new found blood lust, untried strength, never ending fights between natural vampire will and human conscience. Edward and Bella's relationship takes a completely new turn as challenges fly their way. Namely, a pack of furious werewolves and a certain vampire named Victoria, who's still set on vengeance and, this time, gains some powerful followers determined to end Bella, vampire or not, and do as much damage to Forks as possible. This story was written and completed by effection (penname) on Twilight Archives.

In My Time- It's a Twilight and Jane Austen Twist- We have all read stories from Bella's generation. But now we are going to reverse time to 1917 and 1918. Inspired by the part in eclipse where Bella pictures Edward and her in old clothes and sitting on a porch. So ask yourself this: what if they both lived back then, both were human, and both were sitting on that porch? What if Edward knew that Bella was the one he was looking for??? This story is written, but not completed, by awsomealice94 (penname) on Twilight Archives.

A Child of the Night- "I'm like a Vampire," she murmured, her eyes fluttering closed. "Because the sun could kill me. I've lived in darkness, afraid of the sun which, in mere seconds, could steal my life. But ... when I'm with you, I feel warm. You're my sun, Edward." ExB This story was written and completed by l'heure bleue (penname) on Fanfiction.Net. It's all human characters.

To Believe, or Not To Believe...

RUMORS

Is AnnaLynne McCord going to be included in the New Moon cast (as Heidi)?
- As Ashley Greene commented, "You can put some weight on this one [rumor]." ;) As for what that means, you can decide.

Will Vanessa Hudgens be playing Leah?
- This one has been spreading like wild fire throughtout the fandom.. She's auditioned, but no one has been officially cast for the role.

Will Ian McKellen be playing Aro? Y'know, that guy that was in The Lord of the Rings?
- Nothing is yet official on this, casting is still going on as far as anyone is informed.. However, I think he is the right guy for the job.. well known, aged, a film star background.. all he needs now is a proper knowledge on the book and his character.

Can I be apart of this epic film?
- YES!- Well, maybe! Summit is about to launch a contest for the chance to BE IN NEW MOON! The official Twilight Movie site will soon be hosting it. Open to the US and Canada only.. Personally, I think that's really cool. :)

These are a few of the main rumors surrounding the New Moon movie.. But really? I just hope this new director guy pulls it off and somehow manages to satisfy us, twihards. I really thought there were too many things wrong with the first movie, so on that, there is a ton of pressure on the director of New Moon. I swear, if Robert Pattinson doesn't wax his face or something.. ugh. :/ Anyway, before I go too off-topic, I just want to say, congrats for Taylor Lautner on keeping his part! Woo-hoo! :)

Big Reveal: Ashley Greene

Reports on Ashley Greene are out! She's finally received the script for New Moon, taking it in with as much excitement as every fan.

According to her, it's even better then the first movie. Ashley told Extra, "I’m so excited. I finally, finally got the script … and it’s good. It’s really good. I’m really excited to work with [new director] Chris [Weitz]. I finally spoke to him the other day.
“I like [the script] better than the first one,” she added. “I might be biased, because I have a bigger part.”
On a side note-

This is a big leap for Greene already. Affiliation with Twilight has brought her attention and a small portion of fame, but she's glad with what she has.

“It’s nice for me, because as Alice, a lot of people don’t recognize me, because my hair is longer and everything’s a little different, so it’s kind of slowly happening,” she said. “Versus poor Rob, [who] went from nobody knowing him to everything being documented.”

She doesn't exactly have to deal with the crazy haze surrounding Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, but she is quite content with her life.

Rob at the Oscars

Aside from the movie, Slumdog Millionaire, running away with all the Oscar Awards, Robert Pattinson made an appearance at the famous show on Sunday, the 22. I'm not a major fan of him for portraying Edward (in general) the way he did, but I will admit he came out looking quite dashing, donning an elegant tuxedo for the event. It was quite special to see how he related to Twilight in his comments.

"Seyfried proclaimed that since the beginning of cinema, films have tried to figure several key things about love, with Pattinson adding: “What it is, how to get it, how to keep it and what to do when it goes incredibly wrong.”
Donning... some scruff and his British charm, Pattinson jokingly told the crowd, “I had to become a vampire to find it!” "
ext. MTV

He was quite the advocate for Twilight with his (overly done?) vampiric look.. I don't know if I was imagining it, but Rob gave me the impression that he was trying to view the audience from 'beneath his eyelashes'. It was weird at first, but reminded me of the proposal scene in Eclipse.. After that, he was pretty okay in my book.

Later during the show, Pattinson could be spotted among the famous actors and actresses, but his real debue was in the stand-up interview after the show. "This is my last night of light. I go up to Canada soon [to shoot the Twilight sequel, New Moon]. And my character goes 50 times darker then it did in the first movie," the actor hinted. He was also seen at the after party, managing to stick around for a few shots with Zack and Vanessa.

Rob did a fine job, all things considered, at the Oscars. Hopefully, we'll see him soon enough in the previews.

Twilight: Director's Notebook

"Exciting news for fans of Twilight
the movie!
Little, Brown will be publishing Twilight: Director's Notebook
written by
Catherine Hardwicke. It will be released on March 17th. This
intimate look on
making the movie will include inside secrets on everything
from casting to
wardrobe along with personal notes from Catherine and
behind-the-scenes
photographs."

- excerpt from StephenieMeyer.com

Fans around the Twilight World are excited and anxious at delving deeper into Catherine Hardwicke's mind on and when she made the movie...

"With this book, I tried to show fans and aspiring filmmakers some of the process that the crew and I went through filming Twilight," said Hardwicke, who started as a production designer for films like Tank Girl, Three Kings, and Vanilla Sky before making her directorial debut with 2003's Thirteen. "My challenge was to translate Stephenie [Meyer]'s powerful book and make you feel what she makes you feel when you read her words." ext. EW

The book should contain the director's very thoughts, little hints and dittos, on the set. It's designed to re-create her own personal notebook that she kept throughout her time on set. The book is also set to feature little notes on all the actors and actresses, a big plus for every fan out there. You've seen the eccentric director in short trailers and clips, but the notebook should offer her specific views on just about everything dealing with Twilight. She's not set to direct New Moon, but for her time working with Twilight, she made a very memorable impact. Whether your views were harsh or positive on the movie, you can now see why she made the movie the way she did. You can see her thoughts on each scene, all the while reading little tidbits on directing Twilight. There are also exclusive behind the scenes shots and pictures on set. On a personal note, I loved it when Robert Pattinson (Edward) bounced the apple that Kristen (Bella) dropped during lunch. It was very amusing to see that little scene emphasize him being a vampire; it'd be kind of cool to see what she thought of filming it and maybe see some still pictures of that moment.

Twilight: Director's Notebook will go on sale on March 17, 2009.

You can now pre-order this book.

New Moon movie kick-off!

11.20.09
Among the many speculations, I do have a few facts:

  • The movie title will remain as 'New Moon'.. nothing too drastic like The Twilight Saga's New Moon as it's been rumored. It's pretty big (isn't everything related to Twilight?) news considering they've already changed so many things in the first movie.. ;P

  • Parts of the movie will be filmed in Volterra, Italy. Talk about the infamous Volturi Castle should ensue.. It has yet to be chosen or even digitally recreated.

  • Taylor Lautner will proudly be back again for New Moon.. and his abs are ready ;)

  • Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart (Edward and Bella) should follow throughout the series, even into the third installment, Eclipse! I'm not too psyched about Robert (among other reasons, he needs to wax his face), but I will admit they are the headline couple that now identifies the Twilight Saga..

  • Summit Entertainment has announced the release date for Eclipse.. June 30, 2010! (Okay, not exactly New Moon news, but still.. it's pretty exciting.)

  • Alright, guys.. We all felt the dark and depressing mood New Moon gave us, so it's a wonder as to how Summit plans to pull it off with Chris Weitz as the director. He's the guy that directed The Golden Compass more recently. Because of this, I have high hopes that he does New Moon some well deserved good :) Click on his name to find out more.

  • It's been noted that actress Rachelle LeFevre (Victoria) is really working out for her wire work stunts in New Moon. She's told Access that she is doing a special new workout training program, only available in Hollywood, called “GST.”

  • Here's a big one: Dakota Fanning will be playing Jane in the movie. It's been rumored that she hasn't read the book, but has gladly accepted the role.. And who wouldn't? This saga has become one of the biggest social tornadoes to sweep throughtout America, and even the world! Ahem, a bit off topic, but still.. ;P

  • Filming for this epic movie begins in March, in both the US and Italy.. With a deadline of November, I'm wondering if they will pull this off without it seeming too rushed.
